Local Weather
in May
We do live in a rainforest. Bring appropriate
rain gear and foot wear, especially for garden
touring or just hiking around to enjoy the beautiful
scenery! Although locals seldom use umbrellas (it
has something to do with "wind" and local custom)
you won't be looked down upon if you bring one and
may be asked to share!
Temperatures in mid May can range from the 30's to
the 70's (we can hope!) so layers of fleece/wool are
useful. Sunscreen is not often needed unless you go
out on the water for fishing or whale watching, but
bring sunglasses just in case. Common local wildlife
includes Sitka Blacktail deer, Black bears,
Porcupines and slugs. Bring your binoculars if you
are a bird watcher. |
